Diamond CD that is being written while Diamond is on the last leg of his North American tour. Tour of '05 also left him touring and not at home. Dated have been added so Mr. Diamond will be touring past the 1st of the year and away from home on New Years Eve once again. Seems Mr Diamond loves the road and is very good at it. his reviews are excellent and he packs out every where he goes. Has any one read or heard anything about these circumstances? I drove for two and half hours each way to take my mother in law to see legendary Neil Diamond. She is in a wheel chair. We had seats on the floor 14th row, center stage. The concert was phenomenal. On top of that, everyone was very nice to us and very helpful. Neil is about 70 now, I think and he can still do his thing. My mother in law was in her glory!! I am so happy for her. She has missed out on so much these past six months.Ever been so wound up and so tired and so happy all at once? | |

His accomplishments span 40 odd yrs and he is still going so very strong. Seeing him in concert is an unforgetable experience that hopefully is appreciated by many. I suggest he compile them into a book of poetry. He insists that he writes lyrics. If it sounds like poetry, it is poetry to me. He looks great, is in terrific shape, sounds wonderful, has lots of stamina, and he certainly can write lyrics that break my heart At the age of 67 he surly has so much more to give us from the heart of his soul. | | My current writing project | | I know I haven't been around mcu lately, so I wanted to take a few minutes to say hello, and to let everyone know what's been going on with me. I've been extremely busy the last couple of months, and if I'm lucky, life could get even more busy and exciting in the very near future.The story is a little long and strange, but I'll try to keep it as simple as I can. The first week of May, I picked up the new Neil Diamond CD, Home Before Dark. When I saw it, I was impressed by the photography on the covers and the inside liner notes. After discovering that the photos were the work of Neil's son, Jesse, I Googled him to see if I could find any more of his work. That led me to his website, www.jessediamond.com, and I was very impressed by what I found. At that point, I sent him a short "fan letter" type email, and that was that.Over the next few weeks, I kept going back to the site to look at the photos, and I started to feel inspired to write poems about a great many of them. I joked around with a few of my friends about how Jesse and I should do a book together...his photos and my poems...but again, just left it at that, a joke.Toward the end of August, after continuing to... | |
